John George Connington

     John George Connington was born on Sunday, 19 April 1896 at Orillia Twp., Simcoe Co., Ontario, Canada, and his father was the informant and the delivering doctor (?). He began military service on 29 May 1917 at Cobourg, Northumberland Co., Ontario, Canada, when he signed his Attestation Paper, becoming regimental #2327404 with the Cobourg Heavy Battery, Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Forces. He was living at 341 Peter Street, Orillia, single and working as a machinist. He listed his father at the same address as his next of kin. He was considered fit on the 30'th May 1917 and described as: 5' 6 1/2 " tall, ruddy complexion, grey eyes, black hair. His distinguishing mark was a slight left (?). He and Dorothy Mary Ashman, daughter of Thomas Ashman and Sarah Shaw, were married. John died circa 1963. He was buried at St. Andrew's Cemetery, Orillia, Simcoe Co., Ontario, Canada.
