William Reid

     William Reid was born on Friday, 31 January 1862 at Scott Twp., Ontario Co., Ontario, Canada. He and Elizabeth Cook, daughter of Samuel Cockett and Caroline Booth, were married by Minister L. W. Hill on Wednesday, 22 October 1884 at Vallentyne, Ontario Co., Ontario, Canada. She was 24, living in Scott Twp., born in Whitchurch, spinster, Methodist. He was 23, born and living in Scott Twp., bachelor, farmer. Albert Cook and Cassie Reid witnessed the marriage. He appeared as household head on the census of 6 April 1891 at Scott Twp., Ontario Co., Ontario, Canada. He was enumerated as: Reid, William, male, 29, married, head, born Ontario, both parents born Scotland, Presbyterian, Carpenter, wage earner, able to read and write. Elizabeth Reid, William Palmer Reid, John Wilmot Reid, Etta Elizabeth Reid and Mary Caroline Reid also appeared in the household. He was listed as the informant on the death registration of William Palmer Reid. William died on Friday, 16 July 1937 at 1161 Thornwood Ave., Cleveland, Cuyahoga Co., Ohio, USA, at age 75 years, 5 months and 16 days. He was buried on Monday, 19 July 1937 at the Lakeview Cemetery, Cleveland, Cuyahoga Co., Ohio, USA.
