On Feb. 17, 1916 he was deemed fit for service and described as follows: 5' 6", fair complexion, blue eyes, auburn hair, Methodist. He had no distinguishing marks. He and Florence Olive Ross, daughter of Henry Ross and Winnifred Stokes, were married by Minister Donald Tail on Wednesday, 22 July 1925 at the United Church, Mount Albert, York Co., Ontario, Canada. He was 27, salesman, bachelor, Methodist, living at 286 Eglinton Ave E., Toronto. She was 26, spinster, school teacher, Presbyterian, living in Mount Albert. They were both able to read and write. Lorne Mainprize and Mary Eldred Ross witnessed the marriage. Jesse died on Monday, 11 May 1998 at Orillia, Simcoe Co., Ontario, Canada, at age 100 years, 3 months and 6 days. He was buried on Thursday, 14 May 1998 at Mount Albert Cemetery, Mount Albert, York Co., Ontario, Canada.
