Mary Ann Karn

     Mary Ann Karn was born on Friday, 5 May 1893 at North Oxford Twp., Oxford Co., Ontario, Canada, and her father was the informant. Dr. J. W. Brown attended at the birth. She and John Peter Shear, son of Charles Shear and Lena Schefner, were married by S. J. Allin on Thursday, 27 April 1911 at Windsor, Essex Co., Ontario, Canada. She was 18, spinster, Lutheran, living in New Hudson, Michigan. He was 20, Cheesemaker, Methodist, living in New Hudson, Michigan. There is a note on the registration which reads, "The reason for marrying here is not to avoid publicity or for any unproper purpose". Ada Allin and Fernie Allin witnessed the marriage.
