John Peter Shear

     John Peter Shear was born on Tuesday, 28 April 1891 at Lyon, Oakland Co., Michigan, USA. He and Mary Ann Karn, daughter of Samuel Karn and Margaret May Hebner, were married by S. J. Allin on Thursday, 27 April 1911 at Windsor, Essex Co., Ontario, Canada. She was 18, spinster, Lutheran, living in New Hudson, Michigan. He was 20, Cheesemaker, Methodist, living in New Hudson, Michigan. There is a note on the registration which reads, "The reason for marrying here is not to avoid publicity or for any unproper purpose". Ada Allin and Fernie Allin witnessed the marriage.
