     John Pember Hodgkinson was born in 1799. He was baptized by Reverend Robert Addison, Sunday, 14 May 1815 at the 12 Mile Creek, Ontario, Canada. He petitioned for land on Tuesday, 9 October 1821 from Grantham Twp., Upper Canada. He was applying for 200 acres as the son of William Hodgkinson Empire Loyalist. He is listed as: Hodkinson, John, farmer, born Canada West, Church of England, age 61, male, widowed, male family member, frame one stoey house. Alvira Hodgkinson, Pember Hodgkinson, William Hodgkinson, Edward Hodgkinson, John T. Martin, Zehide (?) Hodgkinson and Frederick Hodgkinson also appeared in the household.
