Sophia Hebner

     Sophia Hebner was born in 1839 at Markham Twp., York Co., Ontario, Canada. She and Robert Thompson, son of James D. Thompson and Isabella Johnston, were married by Minister Thomas Hanna on Thursday, 26 January 1860 at Queensville, York Co., Ontario, Canada. Her parents were recorded as Peter and Mary Hebner, she was 21, born in Markham, living in Scott. He was 32, born in Scarborough, living in Scott. John Hebner and James McKelvey witnessed the marriage. She appeared on the census of 1861 in the household of Robert Thompson at Scott Twp., Ontario Co., Ontario, Canada. She was recorded as: Sophia Thompson, born Upper Canada, Church of Scotland, age 23, female, married, female family member. Sophia died prior to the 1871 census as her husband Robert is recorded as being widowed.
