Abraham Phoenix

     Abraham Phoenix was baptized, Sunday, 9 May 1784 at the Old Dutch Church, Kingston, Ulster Co., New York, USA, and there were no witnesses recorded. An image of the church can be found here. He and Eleanor Hodgkinson, daughter of William Hodgkinson and Mary Jones, were married on Sunday, 14 September 1806 at Newark, (Niagara-on-the-Lake), Lincoln Co., Ontario, Canada. He petitioned for land on Saturday, 10 November 1810 from Niagara, Lincoln Co., Upper Canada. He states he came into the province 15 years ago (1795), has a wife and three children. He is praying for 200 acres and Thomas Hamilton of York is to be his agent. An image of the petition can be found here. He lived at Lot 22, Concession 4, Scarborough Twp., York Co., Ontario, Canada, in 1837. He witnessed the marriage of David Cragg and Christiana Phoenix. He lived at Lot 23, Concession 4, Scarborough Twp., York Co., Ontario, Canada, between 1850 and 1851.
